David Haye will defend his WBA heavyweight championship against fellow Englishman Audley Harrison in a fight being called ‘The Best of Enemies.’
The duo will square off against each other at the MEN Arena in Manchester on November 13th for the first time in their careers.
Haye vs Harrison – The Best of Enemies
The relationship of these two fighters has made it become one of the most anticipated fights for British boxing in years.
Going back ten years or more these two were great friends; travelling and training together as amateur boxers and even rooming together on occasions. Harrison achieved the greater success of the two as an amateur, with victories at both the Olympic and Commonwealth games before turning professional.
Animosity began to grow much later when Haye began to build his professional career. Harrison was upset at being refused a place on the undercard at one of Haye’s fights and now the two seemingly can’t stand each other. Whilst most build ups to fights have the usual ‘trash talking’ antics that is all part of the sport, there is a real sense that the hostility between Haye and Harrison is very real.
